The organ concerts “At the Crusaders” are conceived as hour-long comprehensive programmes where, in addition to the compositions of world-famous masters of the Baroque and Classical periods, music by Czech composers is regularly performed. The accessible yet artistically valuable dramaturgy alternates the already rich sound of the organ and its combinations with solo instruments or singing, so that the listener is constantly surprised by new colours and sound variations. The concerts usually feature three artists – soloists of our leading opera houses and orchestral ensembles, teachers of the Academy of Performing Arts and the Prague Conservatory.

A traditional surprise for our listeners are the welcome fanfares performed by two trumpeters in stylized costumes, played on “heraldic trumpets” for 30 minutes before the beginning of each concert on the entrance staircase in front of St. Francis Church.

St. Francis Church houses a unique Baroque organ from 1702, the second oldest instrument in Prague. This famous instrument, now sensitively restored, has been played by many celebrities, including W. A. Mozart, A. Dvořák and J. F. N. Seger. The organ is located at the right front of the church, thus ensuring a great acoustic and visual experience.
