Discover the Museum Montanelli (MuMo), one of the few private non-profit institutions of modern and contemporary art in the Czech Republic. Housed in a historic house on Nerudova Street in Mala Strana, on the road to Prague Castle, the museum combines the intimate atmosphere of a gallery space with the ambition to deliver strong, topical and often daring art projects.
MuMo focuses on the dialogue between established and experimental art forms, between the past and the present. The exhibition programme presents Czech and international artists, often in the form of thematic and group exhibitions, performances, installations or projects on the borderline of “art experience”. Visitors can thus meet both world-class personalities and prominent names of the contemporary Czech scene.
The museum manages the DrAK Foundation’s collection and regularly incorporates it into exhibitions – from projects with a humanities or social theme to exhibitions reflecting existential themes, history or science (for example, in dialogue with medicine or natural sciences). The museum is a lively space where art meets theatre, dance and other disciplines, and where guided tours, discussions with artists, curators and accompanying programmes for schools are common.
